Since she heard Michael, her son's college friend, argue with someone late last night, Diamond has allowed him to sleep in today. She visits his room carrying freshly made muffins and strikes up a conversation with him. Michael is an energetic, kind man that she has known since he was a young child, so it's not like he sleeps in late. The muffins aren't helping his depressive state; he is clearly in the dumps.
